While all members should be aware of the family’s overall financial situation, choosing one person to conduct the day-to-day financial tasks is a good way to stay on top of things.

It may help your household to have a specific person designated as the Chief Financial Officer.  Try to be sure she will have enough time to give focused attention to all things financial, and will be able to talk with the family about what is going on.
